Projects Overview
Alfa-Nik is working with children, families, the community and government to address the issue of child abandonment and neglect. Ways you can help to make a difference in a child’s life:
Recent Projects Completed:
Wheelchair lift van needed to transport children with disabilities to events and doctors appointments.
We are currently (as of December 2019) looking to raise $21,000 for a special van equipped with a wheelchair lift to transport children with disabilities to their doctors appointments. This will also be used to get the children to special events where it is now difficult or impossible to transport them. We have found a 2015 Mercedes Sprinter van with wheelchair lift in very good condition.
In order to pay for this we are trying to raise at least $21,000 for the purchase of this vehicle. Any donation would be appreciated.
Cafeteria — Most recent project (as of 12/20/19) Cafeteria improvements:
We are currently raising $20,000 to $25,000 for the construction of a new cafeteria, upgrade of equipment, and added in handicap accessibility. We appreciate any donations possible.
See the Cafeteria and Kitchen Upgrade project details page.
Family Apartments — Help us complete the final two family apartments
We see a world where kids are not exploited, safe and protected. Where they are free to enjoy the basic things in life we all take for granted — family. Help us complete the final two family apartments. Each apartment has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, housing a maximum of 10 orphans along with their new parents. Your gift will give a child a safe, loving, Christian home where they will be cared for and protected and given a chance to just be a kid.
Current Status – Funding for full build-out is needed for both apartments, including ceilings, under-floor heating, plumbing, electricals, kitchen, bathrooms, and all furnishings.
Kindergarten — We need funding for more furniture, equipment, teaching resources and supplies
We work closely with disadvantaged families and try to provide services that will benefit the whole community. The area surrounding the orphanage is in the low socio-economic bracket. There are many families that want to provide their children with quality education, yet don’t have the financial resources. We want to make our kindergarten accessible for disadvantaged children in the community as well as the children in the orphanage. Here we will be able to educate them and reach their families, ensuring they are healthy, strong and educated. Your gift will help us provide a basic need that will benefit the whole community for generations to come.
Current Status – Class has started! We need funding for more furniture, equipment, teaching resources and supplies. Our capacity is 50 children. Currently, we have resources for 10 children.
Vocational Learning Center — Help us start a vocational learning center where older children can learn life skills such as woodwork and sewing
Sometimes life doesn’t give kids a chance, especially the older ones who have no way of supporting themselves once leaving orphanages. Ukraine’s orphanages do not support children over the age of 16. They are left to fend for themselves in whatever way they can find. Usually, this results in drug use, prostitution and suicide. Help us start a vocational learning center where older children can learn life skills such as woodwork and sewing, so they can break the cycle of poverty they have been born into. Your gift will help us educate kids for life.
Current Status – Building framework completed. Funding required for internal build-out and purchase of equipment for training use.
Ukrainian Refugees — Your help is essential in relieving the suffering of these innocent people.
Alfa-Nik is actively supporting three soup kitchens and considering opening the fourth to care for the many refugees that have been displaced as a result of violence in the conflict zone. There are three churches with five teams taking turns feeding the people. Our efforts are reaching hundreds of people each week with food, hope, and love. $0.33 with no administrative overhead, feeds a person a hot meal and gives them a chance to make new friends who love them. The soup kitchens are able to feed over 200 people each. There are so many other needs that we trust God will provide as we are contacted daily describing the hunger and hopelessness. $1000 will feed these refugees for one month.
Alfa-Nik is also supporting the refugees with clothing and other daily necessities. Your help is essential in relieving the suffering of these innocent people.
